Paraben Discovery Platform
For years, the line between forensics and eDiscovery have been blurred. The Paraben Discovery Platform brings advanced document discovery through advanced forensic collection methods for a comprehensive discovery platform. Paraben and OrcaTec have come together as two titans of technology to stop the insanity of discovery with a new platform designed to make the processes simple and intuitive. Paraben’s history of solid collection methodology powered by Paraben Enterprise collection technology is the first step in the process. With the collection power
of 50 custodians at a time, you can easily gather the data without any disruption in the operations of the
organization in question. Combine that with the smooth searching and analysis capabilities of the OrcaTec
engine and you have a concrete Discovery Platform.
Enterprise Discovery Features
Document Decision Engine
The Document Decision Engine is designed to help you analyze your document set, understand what it is
about, and ensure demonstrable consistency and efficacy for your review. Keyword searching, for example,
has been found to be only about 20% effective at identifying the responsive documents in a collection.
Using the Document Decision Engine, you can achieve high levels of accuracy, comparable or better than
would be achieved by having a sophisticated reviewer read every document, and in a fraction of the time,
with higher reliability. In going beyond keyword searching, you maximize the opportunities to find relevant
evidence, both inculpatory and, more importantly, exculpatory evidence, rather than just the documents
that happen to contain the problematic words that would ordinarily make up the searches.
Concept searching helps to identify responsive documents. Concept search brings to the top of the results
list documents that are most relevant to the specific query terms. It learns the meanings of words directly
from the documents it reads without a thesaurus, taxonomy, or ontology and uses that meaning to identify
responsive documents. It finds responsive documents even if they don’t happen to contain the specified
keyword(s). Use concept search to improve the effectiveness of your searches.
Visual Decision Engine
Clustering organizes documents into groups based on their meaning. You can decide very quickly whether
large groups of hundreds or even thousands of documents are responsive or not. Because a document can
be in more than one cluster, however, you can be sure that you will not eliminate documents that are about
more than one thing, just because one of those things is not relevant. No matter how many times a responsive
document appears in a sequestered cluster, if it appears once in an included cluster, that document will
be included for further review. Because responsive documents often “have friends” clustering helps to reveal
the important documents and their relations.
Communication network diagrams help you to identify who e-mailed to whom and when. Visualize the
patterns of communication over time and easily recognize patterns of conversation about specific topics.
You can easily restrict your results to one or a few communicators on a topic, zooming in specific caserelevant
information.
Timelines
Timelines help you to identify and select documents sent during a specific time period. You can focus a
narrow or a broad time span and on the individual documents that were created during that span. All of our engines in the Discovery Platform give you everything you need to sift through data in the most
effective and efficient manner possible.
